Mount Teman has been incorporated since 1987.  As the first original bottled "Roots" beverage available in North America, we still stand behind our product as a great-tasting, natural health maintenance drink. Our roots drink is made with purified water, wild organic roots and bark imported from the hills of Jamaica (West Indies). Mount Teman Roots are created through the traditional African process with no chemicals or artificial ingredients. "Some a leaves, some a branches, Mount Teman a de roots". Mount Teman Roots drinks are available in 12 oz. 8 oz. and 5 oz. bottles.
Chaney Root:  Known for its aphrodisiac and tonic properties.  Traditionally Chaney Root is used in "Roots" drinks as an aphrodisiac. It is used for anemia, syphilis and arthritis. It is also used to combat fatigue, neutralize acids and increase red blood cells.  Chaney Root is used as pain relief and as a treatment for male impotency and all skin conditions.
Sarsaparilla:  The root of Jamaican Sarsaparilla is used to treat rheumatism, arthritis and other pains.  It is used to remedy skin conditions, such as, acne, eczema, psoriasis, ring worm and scrofula diseases.  It is said to cure syphilis. It is a good blood purifier.  It helps to break up infections in the body by eliminating wastes through urine and perspiration.  It supports the proper functioning of the liver and colon.  It is an ingredient in many tonics for general well-being.  Sarsaparilla is regarded as an aphrodisiac, and especially prized by Jamaican men.   It balances the hormones in both males and females.  It is recommended as an antidote for any strong poison but should be taken on a clear stomach.  It is used to relieve flatulence and is also used as an eye-wash as well as relief for colds, fever, and as  a hair growth hormone.   Sarsaparilla contains the plant steroids sarsasapogenin, smilagenin, sitosterol, stigmasterol, and pollinastanol; and the saponins sarsasaponin, smilasaponin, sarsaparilloside, and sitosterol glucoside, among others.  The majority of sarsaparilla's pharmacological properties and actions have been attributed to these steroids and saponins.   The saponins have been reported to facilitate the body's absorption of other drugs and phytochemicals, which accounts for its history of use in herbal formulas as an agent for bioavailability and to enhancement the power and effect of other herbs.
Ginger:   Excellent for all stomach complaints and aids digestion. Ginger contains compounds similar to the digestive enzymes found in the digestive tract, which may help one to digest a heavy, protein-rich meal more easily.   Ginger helps kill the influenza virus and helps the immune system wage war against infection.  Ginger is a time-tested remedy for morning sickness.  It is excellent in treating respiratory ailments and is an effective remedy for menstrual discomfort.
Strong Back Root:   A tonic that tones the body.  It is effective in strengthening the back, the muscles, reproductive organs, and relieves impotence.  It is beneficial to persons suffering from respiratory ailments, as well as those suffering from pains. It also cleanses the blood and is useful with kidney and pulmonary problems. Women too gain relief from menstrual pains when they use this herb.  As a bath, it can treat eye inflammations and bodily aches.
Blood Wisp:  Cleans the blood and helps with circulation.
